Exhibitions such as "Abstraction in Italy from the 1947 Manifesto of Lucio Fontana to Present Day" were conceived by Gianfranco and held in 1991 in collaboration with the Municipality of Milan and the Liljevalks Konsthall in Stockholm. Gianfranco also organized the exhibition "Large Format Etching” that opened in Venice in the Scuola Grande dei Carmini and was also on display at the MART (Museum of Modern Art Rovereto-Trento). This was the first such international exhibition of large-format etching, showcasing works by Italian masters of the twentieth century, such as Burri and Afro.

Collaborations with the City of Venice have included the loan of the Ducal Palace’s 18th century collection of Vedutisti paintings for the exhibition in Stockholm, "Vedutisti from the Veneto of the 1700s". Gianfranco organized exhibitions, internships and art editions for students of the Academy of Fine Arts Brera and the Academy of Fine Arts Stockholm. Following his time with the Italian-Swedish Cultural Foundation, Gianfranco founded the Venice Printmaking Studio through which he continues to develop relationshops with artists and art initiatives to further the exposure of the print media.

During its ten years of activity, the VPS has been the studio of numerous international artists, establishing excellent relationships on both artistic and personal levels. Situated on the island of Murano, on the far end of Fondamenta Radi, the studio offers 400m² of workspace overlooking the lagoon.
